Whensday is a countdown timer for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch – count down to anything that matters.
Contact
The fastest way to reach me is via the contact page. I’m a one-person team, so replies usually arrive within a couple of days. Include your iOS version and a screenshot if you can – it speeds things up.
Common questions
Notifications aren’t appearing
- Open the iPhone Settings app → Notifications → Whensday
- Make sure Allow Notifications is on
- Under Sounds, pick anything other than “None” if you want an alarm
- If you have an Apple Watch: Watch app → Notifications → Whensday → Mirror iPhone
Countdowns aren’t syncing between my devices
Whensday uses your private iCloud to sync.
- Settings → [Your name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive must be on
- Scroll down and confirm Whensday is listed and toggled on
- Make sure every device is signed into the same iCloud account
- Close and re-open Whensday to force a refresh — sync can take a minute
My widget hasn’t updated
iOS schedules widget refreshes on its own; Whensday asks for more frequent updates the closer a countdown gets to finishing (every minute under an hour). If a widget genuinely looks stuck, long-press it → Remove Widget, then add it back.
I bought “Remove Ads” but I’m seeing ads on a new device
Open Whensday → Settings → Restore Purchases. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID, so it transfers across devices once restored.
How do I count down to something that happens every year?
Set the date for this year. When the countdown completes, edit it and bump the date to next year — most users like having the “this year’s birthday” as its own visible countdown.
Can I share a countdown with someone?
Not yet — each device’s countdowns stay private to your iCloud account. Shared countdowns are on the wish list; email me if you’d find this useful so I can prioritise it.
Bugs and feature requests
Use the contact page with as much detail as you can – what you tapped, what you expected, what happened. Screenshots help.
Privacy
The full privacy policy lives at rsw.io/whensday-privacy.
In short: countdowns sync only via your own iCloud (Apple sees nothing, I see nothing). The app shows ads from Google AdMob unless you’ve bought “Remove Ads”; AdMob may use your advertising identifier if you said yes to the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt.
